Kitchen Installation

I finally got to pick up my cabinets from my cabinet manufacturer. To save some money, I got the cabinets unfinished and my brother who is a painter is going to finish them for me. The style of kitchen cabinets I got was shaker style because I like the clean lines. And then there is glass in the doors. They gave me clear glass but I had asked for frosted so I’m going to have to find a way to make the glass frosted…ideas?

Another way to save money is to try installing cabinets yourself. It is time consuming but a way to save some money. Luckily my family stopped by and together we had that kitchen up in about 4 hours.

Here you will notice there isn’t a cabinet abover the fridge because they got the size wrong and so they are going to be resizing it. Till then, i’ll probably try finishing the cabinets. When the other ones come in, i’ll paint those then.

Also, there is a long pantry that needs to go in there. Its a little too tall so that one might have to get resized too. More photos to come!

If it was their mistake, won’t they exchange the doors for you? Or will it be a really long wait? There is etching cream that frosts glass. You can also buy static film that resembles frosting, but I’ve never used it so I can’t comment on how it looks or works. But it would be a non-permanent solution.

PS: I think we have similar tastes James! We also went with Shaker style doors. I think they are timeless and sleek looking. They go with any decorating style too!
